Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes Catering and Events, Inc. has been in operation in Seattle since 1986. Our name reflects the range of services that we offer from elegant formal affairs to casual, value-conscious events.
The catering business was initially begun by David Haggerty as a strictly off-premises operation specializing in formal dinner parties and tableside service in clients' homes. David Meckstroth joined David Haggerty in 1989 as co-owner and partner in the business. David and David gained their experience working in many of the area's finest restaurants.
TNT purchased a retail deli in 1990 named Tuxedo Junction Deli. The deli was located at the Providence Medical Clinic on California Avenue in West Seattle. TNT operated, from the Deli, for 3 years while building a catering clientele.
In 1993 Tuxedo Junction Deli was sold and TNT took over the lease at Fauntleroy School Auditorium, giving it a much needed face lift and upgrading the equipment. We have worked hard to enhance the reputation of this facility within the community and create an atmosphere that is well received by our clients and their guests.
While we are fortunate to offer our own facility and to be exclusive at ACT Theatre and Cornish Playhouse, we still maintain a strong focus in off-premises catering.
In 2013, TNT moved its operations to a Sodo location which we call The Works. All of our operations are now housed at The Works, including our kitchen and office. All events originate at this location.
