Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes Catering and Events has been in operationas a Seattle catering company since 1986. Our name reflects the range of services that we offer from the height of elegance to summer picnics.
The catering business was initially begun by David Haggerty as a strictly off-premises operation specializing in formal dinner parties and tableside service in clients’ homes. David Meckstroth joined David Haggerty in 1989 as co-owner and partner in the business. David and David gained their experience working in many of the area’s finest restaurants.
FOCUS OF THE MONTH
Each month we take the opportunity to focus on one topic that relates the company’s core values. We tie the Focus of the Month into whatever we do on a daily basis – in our daily huddles and at events. We write Applause cards to our fellow team members acknowledging their actions each month ending with the recognition of a Focus of the Month Applause Card Winner.

JULY FOCUS OF THE MONTH APPLAUSE CARD WINNER
Abby Haggerty is our July Focus of the Month Applause Card Winner –
Seeing Trough the Guest’s Eyes
Abby Haggerty started working at TNT in 2006. Since that time she has become a strong member of our service staff. Her team members have come to rely on Abby’s hard work, warm smile and guest first attitude. Over the years, Abby has also spent time working on special projects in the office. Abby is a student at Southern Oregon University studying Women’s Studies and Sociology but she always makes time to work events when she is in town. That is, when she is not spending time with her family and friends, eating great food and taking walks.

June Focus of the Month Applause Card Winner
Although Evan De Carufel has only been with TNT for a year you could say he comes from a family of TNT team members. Evan’s mom, Karen was a part of the TNT service team in 1994 and was actually one of our original House Team members (before we officially had a “House Team”). Evan’s big brother Colin, also an alumni of the TNT house team, worked here from 2005 until 2009. Evan has become a valued member of our House team and has also started working in the kitchen – following a passion of his - cooking. When Evan is not busy at TNT he enjoys watching movies with his friends, snowboarding and of course, cooking.
May Focus of the Month Applause Card Winner
Reed Haggerty, House Manger has seen all sides of TNT since he first started working here in 2003. He has been a server, a member of the house team and worked in the office. Now he rallies the house team as House Manager and is instrumental in many of the behind the scenes activities that make our events successful. As much as Reed feels at home here, he does enjoy his time with his friends, family and his dog Kaiah. Look for them at the dog park.
April Focus of the Month Applause Card Winner
When Sherie Crha, Lead, Server and Bartender started working at TNT in August of 2006 she brought along her infectious smile and positive attitude. No matter the event or the position she holds, Sherie’s upbeat personality shines through in everything she does. When Sherie is not devoting herself to TNT, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Sherie lives by her belief – life is too short not to have fun!
March Focus of the Month Applause Card Winner
Kim Hutchinson, Lead Server started working at TNT in June of 2003. Kim is thorough and totally guest first. Somehow she tends to get scheduled for many of our early morning breakfast events. When we are all hitting that snooze button, Kim is out on the road! Kim loves to spend time with her family. As a proud and involved mom, she is very active in her daughter, Piper’s many sports, school and Camp Fire activities (ask her for some Camp Fire candy, she may have some to sell you!).
February Focus of the Month Applause Card Winner
Jennifer Thirsk, Lead Server, has been with TNT since March of 2002. In that time, she has performed her duties as Lead at many magnificent and varied events - from a seated dinner auction in an enormous tent for 750 guests to an intimate beach front rehearsal dinner under the stars. Jennifer is always happy to talk about her interest and knowledge in tea and the tea ceremony or about her two playful puppies.
